LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 12, 2023) — On Thursday, Dec. 7, the University of Kentucky Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement celebrated four university employees at the 2023 Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards ceremony. The Mobley Awards honor Terry Mobley's distinguished advancement career by rewarding staff members and volunteers who have made substantial, impactful contributions to the university’s philanthropic mission.
Ashland Oil Research Fellow and Assistant Professor, Tyler Kleppe's co-authored paper, "Demand Uncertainty and the Production of Audit Services," was recently accepted for publication in Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory.
(December 6, 2023) Felipe Benguria's paper "The Impact of NAFTA on U.S. Local Labor Market Employment" is forthcoming in the Journal of Human Resources. The paper studies the impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement on communities across the US.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 29, 2023) — It’s an iconic episode of "Seinfeld" — Jerry tries to return a jacket and when asked why, he replies, “spite.” In fact, he goes on to explain, he didn’t care for the person who sold it to him.
Unsurprisingly, the salesperson states that “spite” isn’t an acceptable condition for a refund.
Maybe Jerry was a bit too honest.
