Bio

Michael Ryan Jenkins is a fourth-year marketing doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky. He was his department’s 2024 recipient of the Doctoral Research Excellence award and the runner-up for the 2023 William O. Bearden competitive paper award. He was also a 2023 AMA Sheth Doctoral Consortium Fellow.

Michael has presented his research at the Southeastern Marketing Symposium and the American Marketing Association winter and summer conferences. His research interests are in brand social dynamics with an emphasis on small, local, and personal brands. Michael currently teaches consumer behavior at Kentucky and has taught introductory marketing and marketing analytics in the past at BYU.

Michael earned a bachelor’s in marketing from Brigham Young University (BYU) and holds additional degrees in both statistics and creative writing. He has worked for various small businesses and start-ups including Blue Fire Leads as a digital campaign strategist and Rapid Reboot as a marketing director.
