University-wide Navigation
1. How did you begin your professional life at the University of Kentucky?

I’m a proud UK alum and fell in love with this university as an undergrad. When my husband’s job brought us back to Lexington, I knew I wanted to be part of UK in some way. I started in Enrollment Management as a recruiter, traveling across Kentucky and surrounding states to meet with students and visit high schools. It was incredibly rewarding because I loved helping students navigate the college search process and showing them everything UK has to offer. My own experience here was life-changing, so being able to help high school students see how UK could shape their future felt like coming full circle.

2. How has your professional journey brought you here to Gatton as a Director of Philanthropy?

This role is truly another full-circle moment for me. I spent about six years in Gatton earlier in my career, serving in a couple of roles. In 2018, I joined as Director of Recruitment, where I worked closely with high school students and their families to show the value of a UK business degree. Later, I transitioned to the Graham Office of Career Management as Director of Employer Engagement, where I connected students with employers for internships and jobs—another rewarding role because I could help students launch their careers while building partnerships with top companies.

After that, I moved to the College of Medicine to work in philanthropy, but I always felt a pull back to Gatton—a place that profoundly shaped me both personally and professionally. Gatton has an incredible sense of community—truly second to none on this campus. When the opportunity to return and join the philanthropy team came along, it felt like a dream come true. Being back really does feel like coming home. I’m thrilled to now work with our amazing alumni community, helping them engage with the college and build a legacy that will carry Gatton into the future.

3. Tell us about your personal life.

I’m a lifelong Kentuckian and incredibly proud of that. My life’s calling is to advance opportunity, connection, and well-being across the Commonwealth. I hold a Master of Public Administration from Murray State University and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from UK.

At the core of my life and leadership is my Christian faith—it shapes how I serve others and navigate challenges, and I strive to always lead with purpose, generosity, and grace. My husband Tyler works in ministry, and we’ve been married for over twelve years. We have a three-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, who is the joy of our lives. Family is my guiding star—it influences every decision I make. Careers, hobbies, and friends may change, but family is forever, and I take seriously the intentional pursuit of strong relationships at home.

4. What do you do when you are not in the office?

When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me cozied up with a good book, tackling an endless list of home improvement projects, spending time with family and friends, or (of course,) cheering on the Wildcats!

5. What do you love about working at Gatton B&E?

How do I choose just one thing?! I love Gatton because its mission is so close to my heart. I love this university, I love the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and I love that Gatton makes both better. We’re developing strong, ethical leaders, strengthening the economy, and working to solve real-world problems. Being part of a college with such a worthy mission is something I feel incredibly grateful for every day.
