Felipe Benguria's paper "The Matching and Sorting of Exporting and Importing Firms: Theory and Evidence" has been published by the Journal of International Economics. The paper studies the response of US exporters to the US-Colombia free trade agreement.
In the recently published paper, "Who Publishes in Economic Education? A Bibliographic Analysis of the First 50 Years of the Journal of Economic Education," authors Paul W. Grimes and Franklin G. Mixon, Jr. examined the characteristics of authors who published academic articles in the Journal of Economic Education (JEE) during its first 50 years. They identify economists who were most productive in developing economic education as a specialized field.

University of Kentucky Center for Poverty Research (UKCPR) Director James Ziliak will chair a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine panel tasked with evaluating and recommending improvements to the nation’s Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM). The SPM is used by the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics to improve understanding of how lower income people are affected by the economy.
Describing the many ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic affected Kentucky’s economy, the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) — the applied economic research branch of the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky — released its 49th Kentucky Annual Economic Report today.

The paper is joint work with Radha Gopalan and Bart Hamilton (Washington University), and Ankit Kalda (Indiana University).
Martin School of Public Policy and Administration Associate Professor David Agrawal has been named Editor in Chief of International Tax and Public Finance (ITAX). ITAX is one of the leading journals in public economics and emphasizes research on inter-jurisdictional policy issues.
Monika Causholli's paper, "The Ties that Bind: Knowledge-Seeking Networks and Auditor Job Performance," co-authored with Theresa Floyd (University of Montana), Nicole Jenkins (University of Virginia), and Scott Soltis was accepted for publication in Accounting, Organizations and Society.
On Jan. 23, 2021, Evisa Bogdani discussed the paper titled, “Does an Audit Office’s Quality Control System Impact Audit Quality? Evidence from Audit Report Errors” by Abbott, Blepp, Marquardt, and Merrell at the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section Virtual Midyear Meeting of the American Accounting Association.
