Today, the University of Kentucky has officially launched the UK Economic Development Collaborative (EDC) to set the strategy moving forward on how UK will address economic development in the areas of talent, innovation, place and partnership. The EDC will also play an advisory role for the economic development engagement areas charged with executing on UK’s strategies.
The Castellan Group LLC, is bringing 12 new business ideas to the 2019 Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE) Bootcamp. These ideas have been generated by current clients of this family office based in Louisville, Ky. The VACE Entrepreneurs Bootcamp is a successful initiative that reaches across undergraduate and graduate programs to promote community engagement.

Finance and accounting December graduate Omer Tariq and UK interiors graduate student Marissa Wilson won the University of Kentucky Venture Challenge with their idea for i-Remember, a website and app to help connect, communicate and form personal relationships with people who have memory problems. They will share $1,500 in scholarship prize money and will represent UK at the state competition in April.
The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, part of the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, will host three Lunch and Learn sessions in the near future. All faculty, staff, students and community entrepreneurs are invited to attend. The sessions are free, but advanced registration is required due to limited seating. The first two sessions will be held at the Venture Studio inside the Gatton College building in room 124, while the location of the third session is still being determined.

University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics Dean David W. Blackwell today announced the appointment of Warren O. Nash III as the new executive director of the college's Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship.
