The Professional MBA program is a diverse network of working professionals and executives from various industries all over Kentucky and beyond. Offered in two-year (20 months) and three-year (32 months), graduates and alumni of the UK MBA pursue variety of career outcomes in managerial, technical and leadership roles.
Real-Time, Online Option
The new Real-Time, Online option offers candidates the opportunity to attend classes in person (traditional), online from any location (distance learning), or a combination of both (blended). This experience delivers a live classroom environment allowing students to learn, connect and participate in a virtual space with faculty, classmates and project teams.

MBA students at the University of Kentucky can earn value-added professional certifications in Project Management, Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and Global Commerce and Strategy. Candidates also have the opportunity to take entrepreneurship electives or obtain the full concentration in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation.
Coupled with the Professional MBA, the Gatton College of Business and Economics has partnered with the Colleges of Law and Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky to offer unique dual degree programs which allow graduates to pursue highly specialized, multifaceted employment opportunities.

Designed around the busy schedule of the working professional, the part-time Professional MBA curriculum is offered in two different tracks: a two-year plan of study or a three-year plan of study with all classes meeting just once a week in the evenings from 6:00pm – 8:30pm (EST). Students have the option of participating in the classroom, online in real time or a combination of both. Below is a proposed course sequence in both the two year and three year plan of study:

****The policy for determining residency is established by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Council on Post Secondary Education. Students who are unsure of their residency status, should refer to the Registrar’s Office Residency Policy before applying for admission. For graduate and professional program students enrolled exclusively in distance learning courses, any fully online courses (i.e., Internet, web-based), will be assessed using the applicable resident tuition rate, regardless of residency status. Students who withdraw from the program are subject to the Fee Liability Policy as stated on the University of Kentucky Registrar's page. The University Fee Liability Policy is published in the Schedule of Classes and the University Graduate School Bulletin. Under this policy, students who officially withdraw from the University by canceling his or her registration via myUK or in writing through the Registrar’s Office or withdraws from a course before the first day of the semester as designated in the official University Calendar is entitled to a full refund of registration fees paid or to cancellation of the amount owed for the term.
Employees may take advantage of tuition benefits at the University of Kentucky by receiving a tuition waiver for UK coursework in order to further their career development, pursue other academic interests or build coursework to enhance their foundation for career change or advancement. The University of Kentucky Alumni Association is pleased to provide financial support to undergraduate and graduate students attending the University of Kentucky. The UK Alumni Association and Alumni Clubs provided 185 students with scholarships, ranging from $500 - $2,500. These awards are available through an application process that is independent of the need-based financial aid process.
