Hector Martinez is a lecturer in the Department of Management at the Gatton College of Business and Economics specializing in motivation and the impact of coaching on employee engagement, performance and meaningful work. His teaching integrates Boyatzis’ Intentional Change Theory with Kolb’s experiential learning framework to create engaging, development-focused classroom experiences centered on helping students identify and pursue their ideal selves. Prior to joining Gatton, he served as an assistant professor at INCAE Business School in Costa Rica and taught at Case Western Reserve University, while also working as a certified coach and executive education facilitator. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from INCAE and a B.A. in Literature from New College of Florida.
