Our JD/MBA Dual Degree program allows UK Juris Doctorate candidates to earn their MBA degree in parallel while earning their JD degree in three years, at a significant tuition discount.

Program Schedule

Juris Doctorate (JD) candidates interested in pursuing our JD MBA Dual Degree program have two options:

  1. Participate in our Full Time MBA, for a more immersive MBA experience in conjunction with their law education.
  2. Participate in our Part Time MBA, for a more flexible MBA experience in conjunction with their law education.

Option 1: Our Full Time MBA program consists of 51 Credit Hours in total. For our JD MBA Dual Degree, 38 credit hours will be earned in our MBA program and 13 credit hours will be shared with the JD degree. The following schedule is the typical cadence of courses for our JD MBA dual degree candidates. The year corresponds with our MBA program, accepted JD candidates start our MBA program after their first year of their law school.

Option 2: Our Part Time MBA program consists of 36 Credit Hours in total. For our JD MBA Dual Degree, 27 credit hours will be earned in our MBA program and 9 credit hours will be shared with the JD degree. The following schedule is the typical cadence of courses for our JD MBA dual degree candidates. Our Part Time MBA courses are offered weekday evenings, from 6-8:30 p.m. The year corresponds with our MBA program, accepted JD candidates start our MBA program after their first year of their law school.

Multiple Law courses are approved as shared elective courses towards our MBA degree.

Application and Tuition Guidance

Candidates interested in applying for our Dual Degree JD/MBA apply in their first year of Law School. Interested candidates first need approval from the College of Law to apply. Those approved, follow our standard application process which can be found here.

Tuition for MBA courses for our Dual Degree graduate students is at a reduced amount of $250 per credit hour.
