Sohee Kim, 4th year accounting Ph.D. student has received the 3rd stage of a doctoral scholarship ($8,500) from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) based on her dissertation. The IMA research foundation awards accounting Ph.D. students based on their progress and research and supports their research activities.
Chuck Courtemanche's paper, "Intended and Unintended Effects of E-cigarette Taxes on Youth Tobacco Use," has been accepted for publication in Journal of Health Economics.
Taylor Begley's paper (co-authored with Daniel Weagley), "Firm Finances and the Spread of COVID-19: Evidence from Nursing Homes" has been accepted by The Review of Corporate Finance Studies.
Carlos Lamarche's paper, "Wild Bootstrap Inference For Penalized Quantile Regression For Longitudinal Data," has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Econometrics. The paper was co-authored with Thomas Parker of the University of Waterloo.
The Gatton College of Business and Economics' Darshak Patel has received the Kenneth G. Elzinga Distinguished Teaching Award from the Southern Economic Association® (SEA) a national recognition for his contributions to economics education.
Tyler Kleppe's paper, "PCAOB inspections, Knowledge Diffusion, and Corporate Tax Planning Effectiveness," was recently presented at the 32nd Annual Conference on Financial Economics and Accounting (CFEA).
