2022 KyCPA Educational Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the 2022 KyCPA Educational Foundation Scholarship recipients. These students met academic criteria set forth by KyCPA’s Educational Foundation Board of Trustees, which awards the nonprofit organization’s scholarships annually. Scholarship recipients were recognized at the Spring Awards Banquet on April 29, 2022. 

Kristine Hankins named Gatton's 2022-2023 University Research Professor

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 29, 2022) — Today, the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees approved 14 University Research Professorships for the 2022-23 academic year. Established by the Board of Trustees in 1976, the professorships program recognizes excellence across the full spectrum of research, scholarship and creative endeavors at UK.

Dean Farmer, Economics student receives UK’s highest honor for humanitarian efforts

Dean Farmer, an economics and political science major, is one of 3 recipients who have received UK’s highest honor for humanitarian efforts — the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. Established by the New York Southern Society in 1925 and named for its first president, Algernon Sydney Sullivan, the award recognizes those "who exhibit Sullivan's ideals of heart, mind and conduct as evince a spirit of love for and helpfulness to other men and women." After the society closed, the award has lived on through the Sullivan Foundation and is given at several universities in the South.

UK Welcomes New Gaines Fellows: Two Econ Majors

The University of Kentucky Gaines Center for the Humanities has selected undergraduate students as new scholars for the Gaines Fellowship Program. This highly competitive and prestigious program selects 12 UK students each academic year.

UK’s ODK Circle Announces 2022 Maurice A. Clay Awards: Accounting Student, Anna Scott

The University of Kentucky Nu Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society established the Maurice A. Clay Awards over 30 years ago to recognize an outstanding graduating senior in each academic college at the University of Kentucky. Winners are selected by the college’s dean or a dean’s representative, and are expected to be exceptional leaders who have provided service to their college while maintaining a strong academic record.

Assistant Professor, Tyler Kleppe's paper titled, "Client Consulting Opportunities and the Reemergence of Big 4 Consulting Practices: Implications for the Audit Market," was accepted for publication in The Accounting Review.

University of Kentucky students win 2nd and 3rd place in the annual 2022 Econ Games, an annual data competition, co-founded by Dr. Darshak Patel (University of Kentucky) and Dr. Abdullah Al-Bahrani (Northern Kentucky University).
