Kayla Griesbach, 2023 Outstanding Senior | Accounting

Kayla Griesbach was chosen as the Gatton Outstanding Senior in Accounting. She was nominated by her academic advisor, who referenced her as the “epitome of a Gatton student.” Holding the president position in both Gatton Ambassadors and the Analytics Club, Kayla has dedicated herself to success. She has completed four internships with Upper Right Marketing, American Volleyball Coaches Association, KPMG, and FORVIS, and two summer leadership programs with BKD CPAs and Advisors.

UK Recognized by the Institute of Internal Auditors

The University of Kentucky has been recognized by the Institute of Internal Auditors a part of the Internal Audit Academic Awareness Program. UK joins approximately 60 other universities worldwide in being a member of this program.

Gatton Faculty, Olivia Davis featured on "What's Your Y" series on BBN Tonight 

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 21, 2023)  — The University of Kentucky is teaming up with UK Athletics and BBN Tonight on WLEX-TV for a new series, called “What’s Your Y?”  The series is a play off the famous UK tradition of famous members of the Big Blue Nation walking on the court of Rupp Area to be the “Y” during the UK Cheerleaders’ KENTUCKY cheer.

Congratulations to Urton Anderson, honored with the Auditing Section’s Outstanding Educator Award at the Audit Midyear Meeting on January 14 in Austin, Texas. This highly prestigious lifetime achievement award recognizes outstanding achievements in research & teaching.

Sohee Kim, Ph.D. student, receives IMA Scholarship

Sohee Kim, 4th year accounting Ph.D. student has received the 3rd stage of a doctoral scholarship ($8,500) from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) based on her dissertation. The IMA research foundation awards accounting Ph.D. students based on their progress and research and supports their research activities.

Tyler Kleppe Presents Paper at CFEA "PCAOB inspections, Knowledge Diffusion, and Corporate Tax Planning Effectiveness"

Tyler Kleppe's paper, "PCAOB inspections, Knowledge Diffusion, and Corporate Tax Planning Effectiveness," was recently presented at the 32nd Annual Conference on Financial Economics and Accounting (CFEA). Tyler Kleppe's paper, "Did the PCAOB’s 2009 Office Expansion Improve Audit Quality?," was accepted for publication in Contemporary Accounting Research.

Accounting Ph.D. program well represented at University of Illinois Audit Symposium

The University of Kentucky's Von Allmen School of Accountancy Ph.D. program was well represented at the University of Illinois Audit Symposium with two papers from Nargess Golshan and Blake Holman.
