Representatives from the Education Abroad Office, Graham Office of Career Management, International Internship providers, and returned international interns will be presenting at this event.
The Graham Office of Career Management is hosting free workshops for students who are interested in commercial real estate. The partnership is an opportunity for students to work with Lee Webb, a Gatton alum and commercial real estate professional, on the Commercial Real Estate Internship and Pitch Competition every semester.
In partnership with the Stuckert Career Center, the Gatton College of Business and Economics has recognized the outstanding accomplishments of student interns during the 2020-2021 academic year. To be considered, the employer was required to submit a nomination letter on behalf of the intern. The winners were selected based on their contributions to the organization, meaningful work that impacted the organization, how the student exceeded expectations, and how they grew from the beginning of their internship to the end.
Summer is a popular time for students to participate in internships to gain real-world experience to add to their resumes. The pandemic has caused employers to move their internships online, cut their programs short, or cancel internships altogether. This has left many Gatton students with their summer plans not coming to fruition.
Well before unprecedented challenges rewrote the trajectory of the Spring 2020 semester, the Graham Office of Career Management had already begun investing in a comprehensive virtual career center to support Gatton students – and its launch couldn’t come at a more critical time!
"We are humbled…we are honored by this dedication. The word surreal has come to my mind over and over again in recent days." The words of Carol Graham, speaking on behalf of her family, as the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics honored the Grahams' late son, Jeffrey C. Graham, by naming the new Graham Office of Career Management in his memory.
As a part of its See Blue Work series, the University of Kentucky James W. Stuckert Career Center, Engineering Career Development and the Graham Office for Career Management will host career fairs and networking events for individuals looking for career or internship opportunities.
