Katie has worked at the University of Kentucky since 2016, first in the Research Fiscal Affairs Office under the Vice President for Research. During her time with research, she was the primary support staff for the VPR’s eight Service Centers. She completed monthly billing, ordered supplies, updated the annual space and equipment inventory and prepared reports for center directors. From 2019 – 2022 she was the Financial Coordinator at the Rosenberg College of Law where she completed the main financial functions for the college including Concur reports, travel reimbursements, Payments to vendors and reconciliations, as well as served as a source of knowledge on UK policies and procedures. In July 2022, Katie moved to the Gatton College of Business and Economics where she currently works as a Financial Specialist. In her role she works on purchasing, travel, reconciliations, and financial needs for multiple units.
Katie is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with deep family roots in Western PA but she spent many years living in Westerville, OH (a northeastern suburb of Columbus) where she attended middle school, high school, and college. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University but is not a big buckeye fan as she is obligated to love all Pittsburgh sports as a Pittsburgher. Katie considers herself a cat person after having a tortoiseshell cat, Winnie for 19 years but currently she only has dogs in her life. Including her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Gemma, and sharing a 1/3 custody of a Cavachon (part Cavalier part Bichon Frise dog), Daisy with her parents. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, singing, vintage and historical fashion books and YouTube videos, watching documentaries especially about true crime and playing the Sims. She is an avid figure skating fan and her favorite place to be is on her grandmother’s porch swing watching the hummingbirds.
Katie handles all the financial transactions for John Maze Stewart Department of Finance, Graduate Center, Graham Office of Career Management, International Affairs, LINKS Center for Social Network Analysis, Management and Undergraduate Resource Center.
