Describe your job responsibilities.

As the Learning, Measurement, and Impact Analyst, I work with various teams at the Bainum Family Foundation to lead and support research and analysis that contributes to measuring progress towards outcomes at all levels of the foundation's strategy: organizational, programmatic, and operational. That might mean anything from working with a program team to develop, implement, and analyze a survey, conducting a qualitative assessment of grantee reports, or putting together a report that highlights the Foundation's annual impact for the board of directors.

Why did you choose to major in Economics?

I took Dr. Patel's Intro to Econ class my Freshman year, and it just clicked! I liked the combination of theoretical and practical thinking that you get to do in Economics.

What advice do have for current students who want to make the most out or their experience at UK Department of Economics?

Make a point to get to know your professors, and share what interests you with them!

What is your greatest professional accomplishment?

I presented at the American Evaluation Association last fall. It was honestly terrifying but I am so glad I did it.

What advice would you give current students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in your professional field? Recommend any data skills, programs, etc?

Keep an open mind and never stop learning! There is still so much I don't know about evaluation but the key is figuring out what you need to learn as you go, and then finding a way to quickly pick up those skills & knowledge.
