College Consensus has recently ranked the University of Kentucky Professional MBA (For Leaders in Healthcare) program at the Gatton College of Business and Economics No. 15 in their Best Online Healthcare MBA Programs for 2020 survey.

 In 2020, the UK MBA anticipates new student enrollment to grow with their Real-Time, Online MBA option, entrepreneurship concentration and the Professional MBA (For Leaders in Healthcare) program.

University of Kentucky MBA alumni, executives and current students representing Tempur Sealy International, US Air Force, UK Healthcare and Matrix Design Group lead a stellar panel of speakers at the Professional MBA Open House event on Wednesday, December 11th at 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at UK's Gatton College of Business and Economics building on campus. This event is open to all working professionals, executives and HR managers in Kentucky (and beyond) who are interested in learning more UK's professional MBA programs. 

Grant Marciniak was recently promoted to Group Manager of Planning and Business Processes at Norfolk Southern Corporation, one of the nation’s leading transportation companies. Grant was hired by Norfolk Southern following his graduation in the UK MBA program and speaks to the different skills he learned in the UK MBA along with his degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Kentucky. 

Engineering/MBA dual degree alum Marilyn West knew that she always wanted to work at Walt Disney and that's exactly what happened after she graduated with her MBA from Gatton. Marilyn reflects on her experiences at UK, the support she received from the College of Engineering and her current role as World Brand Ambassador at Walt Disney World. 

UK MBA alum, Katie Noah, has been recently promoted to Client Services Manager at Catalent. Catalent is a global leader in providing integrated services, superior delivery technologies and manufacturing solutions to help life science innovators develop and launch successful pharmaceuticals, biologics and consumer health products. In this new role, Katie supports new business at the site and works with their field sales team to generate quotations for new products. Katie and her team write and works to ensure that these quotations meet the client’s needs, and then develops a manufacturing and testing strategy with Catalent's internal team.

Trey Grayson, former Kentucky Secretary of State and alum of the University of Kentucky's JD/MBA dual degree program, will become Executive Director of the Aspen Institute’s Rodel Fellowships in Public Leadership beginning in January of 2020. The Rodel Fellowship is one of the signature leadership programs of the Aspen Institute. Since 2005, it has identified and brought together promising young elected officials who have demonstrated an outstanding ability to work responsibly across partisan divisions and bring greater civility to public discourse. Trey is a member of the Fellowship’s inaugural class, and four Rodel Fellows are currently running for President of the United States.

Gatton and UK MBA alum Victoria Russell was honored recently as the alumni recipient of the Lyman T. Johnson Torch of Excellence Award at the 29th Annual Lyman T. Johnson Torch of Excellence Awards Luncheon Ceremony on October 11th, 2019. This award is given to an African American alum of the College whose faith, hard work, and determination has positively impacted the lives of people on campus, the city, state or nation. This recognition was particularly special this year as UK commemorates the 70th year anniversary of Lyman T. Johnson who was the first African American student to attend the University of Kentucky back in 1949. 

University of Kentucky MBA alum of the JD/MBA dual degree program, Jonathan Skeeters, was recently featured in the Nashville Business Journal’s “The Boss” series which profiles influential leaders in the Nashville business community. Jonathan is the current Chairman and Managing Partner of Birmingham-based Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP. which consists of more than 500 attorneys located in 10 offices across the country.

Kentucky Volleyball middle blocker and current University of Kentucky MBA student, Leah Meyer, was named as the Southeastern Conference's Defensive Player of the Week. Leah joined the UK MBA in 2019 after graduating with her BS degree, along with playing volleyball, from Duke University. Leah brings amazing academic and athletic talent to the University of Kentucky and the Gatton College of Business and Economics.
