Pamela R. Goodwine is a circuit court judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit of Fayette County, Kentucky. In 1999, she was sworn in as a Fayette District Court Judge, becoming the first African-American woman in the local judiciary. Two months later, Judge Goodwine defeated nine other candidates, earning the right to finish the unexpired judicial term. She has served as chairperson of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights and has been a member of the National Association of Human Rights Workers, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky and the Lexington Arts & Cultural Council. She earned both her bachelor's degree in management and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky.
