The Louisville Business First recently recognized University of Kentucky's Engineering/MBA dual degree alum, Ryan Barrow in their 2018 Best in Finance Honorees, which awards outstanding working professionals in a finance position at a Louisville company or nonprofit organization. This year's honorees represented financial professionals from a variety of sectors who have led their organizations to fiscal success.

University of Kentucky MBA alumni and current students from Valvoline, Toyota, PNC and Pepsico led a stellar panel of speakers at the recent Professional MBA Open House event at the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics. This professional panel included George Zhang, Technical director of International R&D at Valvoline; Yajaira West, Vice President, Client and Community Relations Director at PNC Bank; David Bugg, Project Assistant General Manager and Chief Manufacturing Project Engineer at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky and Sarah Rediford, Sales Senior Zone Supervisor for Frito Lay at PepsiCo. 

The University of Kentucky MBA selected Tempur-Sealy International, Inc., headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, to be spotlighted for their sponsorship in Project Connect. Project Connect is the built-in internship experience that's exclusively offered in the One Year MBA program at the Gatton College of Business and Economics whereby student teams are paired with companies to work on projects of importance.

Candace Bramley-Hardesty was selected for the 2018 Judith Milburn Haywood Staff Award and will be recognized at the first annual Gatton Honors Day next month. The Judith Milburn Haywood Staff Award, which was established in 2002, annually recognizes Gatton College staff members for their outstanding work and with nominations coming from their peers in the college.

Michelle Allen, an alumna the UK MBA program at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics, lead the initiative from concept to commercialization of the new Easy Poor bottle which was recognized as the Best in Car Care award at the 2018 Product of the Year Awards. Michelle is the current Director of Strategic Accounts at Valvoline, Inc.

The full-time, One Year MBA program at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics moved up 6 spots in the recent 2017-2018 Bloomberg Businessweek's Best Business Schools rankings survey to #74 overall, and #37 among public university MBA programs.

The MBA Student Association (MBASA) at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently participated in the 2018 Dance Blue Marathon and organized a UK MBA Dance Blue team which raised over $6500.

The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently inducted UK MBA alum, William W. “Bill” Thomason Jr., who currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Keeneland, into the Gatton College Alumni Hall of Fame.

The University of Kentucky’s International Center recently hosted a Global Health Case Competition as part of their Global Health Initiatives at the Gatton College of Business and Economics. The winning interdisciplinary team presentation was titled "Palliative Care for Today, Preventative Care for Tomorrow: Papua New Guinea”, which included UK MBA student, Michael Sackett.

University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently presented the fourth annual Commonwealth Supply Chain Innovation Award, sponsored by SAS, to John Lindsey, supply chain manager for R.J. Corman Material Sales in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The presentation ceremony was held during Thursday’s eighth annual Supply Chain Forum, held in the Woodford Reserve Club at Kroger Field.
