On Friday (Oct. 7), alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics will gather to celebrate the official grand opening of the new facility. The celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Gatton’s Kincaid Auditorium.

The Von Allmen School of Accountancy was recognized among only four accounting programs in the U.S. to achieve 100% pass rates on both parts of the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam, a global designation that tests management accounting knowledge and skills. Strategic Finance magazine recognized UK as one of the schools that "best prepare their students for the exam." UK was also top 4 in the SEC for the number of candidates taking the exam.

The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, part of the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, will host three Lunch and Learn sessions in the near future. All faculty, staff, students and community entrepreneurs are invited to attend. The sessions are free, but advanced registration is required due to limited seating. The first two sessions will be held at the Venture Studio inside the Gatton College building in room 124, while the location of the third session is still being determined.

In the first major lecture of the academic year, the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics welcomes 2016 Chellgren Lecturer and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi to the college’s Kincaid Auditorium 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.

The theme of his speech is “The Role of Business in Bringing About Social Change.”  

The event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited and advanced registration is required.

The Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky is making it easier for regional businesspeople to pursue an MBA with a new, more convenient online preparatory ("prerequisite") option. Prospective students interested in both the One Year  MBA and Professional MBA programs can now fulfill their prerequisites through IVY Software, an interactive online educational software that helps prospective business candidates obtain the required foundational knowledge to prepare for an UK MBA program.
