UK MBA Alum Vishnu Jayamohan of Nissan Recognized for his Significant Contributions

Vishnu Jayamohan

The Gatton College of Business and Economics would like to spotlight and recognize UK MBA alum, Vishnu Jayamohan, for his engagement and contributions. Vishnu currently serves as Senior Manager, Product Lifecycle Strategy and Marketing at Nissan, and has had a very successful career in the automotive industry.

Alumni of the UK MBA and the Gatton College make the program better in multiple ways: sharing wisdom with the students, providing guidance to help shape the direction of the program, and providing career support which can help many in securing jobs.

Over the years, Vishnu has volunteered his time to speak to the MBA students on the topic of new product development. More recently, Vishnu has joined the MBA Advisory Council, sharing his wisdom and expertise on a variety of topics to improve the MBA experience for all students in the program.

Approximately two years ago, Vishnu took a proactive stance to propose a program that would help differentiate the One Year MBA students. Vishnu’s proposed program stemmed from a gap that he witnessed with MBA graduates from top-tier programs in terms of having the business acumen to comprehensively manage a multi-disciplined business project through its entire lifecycle. Through coordination with Vishnu, a capstone week program was developed to challenge the MBA students to take a managerial perspective and think in an integrative fashion while applying learnings from the different disciplines they had studied in their courses to a series of real-world situations and problems.

Vishnu delivered the first of what we hope to be many capstone programs this past April. While COVID-19 limited some of the in-field experiences Vishnu had planned for, the program was extremely well received by the UK MBA students.

The Gatton College and the University of Kentucky MBA are very thankful to have engaged alumni like Vishnu helping to prepare our students for what is wildly possible!
