Katherine joined the Gatton Undergraduate Resource Center as an academic advisor in October 2020. She enjoys guiding students toward achieving their educational and life goals during college by helping them be successful academically and engage in learning opportunities outside the classroom. Prior to working at the University of Kentucky, she served as a study abroad advisor at Western Kentucky University for eight years. She earned a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, German and Religious Studies from WKU. As part of her graduate coursework, she conducted and published research related to international students’ sense of belonging and connectedness with U.S. students. Previous professional experiences include teaching ESL in Argentina as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and working in residence life at the Gatton Academy of Math and Science. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, knitting, gardening, and outdoor activities.
