Bio
Sung-Yuan (Mark) Cheng is a Ph.D. candidate at the Von Allmen School of Accountancy. His research has primarily focused on the applications of emerging technologies such as machine learning, blockchain, and artificial intelligence, as well as Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues. Cheng is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Washington. Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, he worked as a senior auditor at PwC’s Taipei office, where he provided audit and tax services for companies across diverse industries, including manufacturing, chemistry, oil & gas, and electric vehicles. He received a master's degree in professional accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree in finance from National Taiwan University.
