At the University of Kentucky, put yourself on the path to a high-demand, high-potential career in Supply Chain Management. The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MSSCM) is a 30 credit-hour graduate program, that blends end-to-end supply chain concepts like strategic sourcing and channel management with big data analytics and cross-functional business knowledge. This program will give you first-hand industry project experience, small class sizes, and flexible, customizable scheduling including many online course options.  

It's well worth the effort. This short program requires both quantitative and interpersonal skills. This field is ideal for candidates who hold a bachelor degree in the following fields: Business, Engineering, Economics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Agri-economics and Communications.

CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program is a 30-credit-hour program that consists of 10 courses that can be completed in 11-24 months.

Classes are scheduled both during the day and early evening to accommodate part-time students. Most MSSCM classes are scheduled on Tuesday/Thursday.

ADMISSIONS

Application Process

All majors are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be evaluated for admission based upon their undergraduate coursework grade point averages (GPA), recommendation letter, resume and English language proficiency.

Domestic Students

  • Fall semester: July 26th
  • Spring semester: December 10th

International Students

  • Fall semester: April 15th
  • Spring semester: September 15th

Here are the steps to apply.

1. Prerequisite Courses

Applicants are required to have completed and earned a 2.0 in at least one college level statistic course. Examples:

  • STA 296 Statistical Methods
  • STA 381 Engineering Statistics
  • ECO 391 Economic and Business Statistics

2. Application

Complete an online application and submit the application fee. An application is considered complete/ready for review once all supporting documents have been received by the University of Kentucky Graduate School.

This program starts in late August for Fall semester and early January for Spring semester. Applicants must complete the program specific application requirements to be considered for admission into the degree program. Incomplete files will not be reviewed.

Once the application is complete, it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee within 3-4 weeks of admission.


3. Documentation

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (out of 4.0)
  • One recommendation letter
  • Current resume
  • Transcript(s)
    • Upload digital copies of your unofficial test scores and transcripts from all universities attended using the online application.
    • Once admitted, official transcripts are required.
  • $65 application fee

GRE/GMAT scores, writing samples, personal statements, and statements of purpose are not required.

International candidates:

  • English Proficiency waivers can be offered to candidates who earned their bachelors' degrees from other U.S. universities and/or institutions that will document that all of their instruction was in English.
  • The minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5. The minimum Duolingo score is 115.
  • $75 application fee

International candidates in the program must take at least nine credit hours per semester in order to maintain the full-time student status. Candidates may apply for a reduced course load the last semester.

4. Plan of Study Options

We offer various options for completing the MSSCM degree. When you complete your application, select the appropriate options under "Plan of Study."

  • Online or On Campus. Domestic applicants have the option to study either "On Campus" or "Online." International applicants must select "On Campus."
  • Specialty. All applicants must select a specialty to identify their intended enrollment status and duration of studies. The "2 Semester" and "3 Semester" specialties are full-time enrollment options. Applicants can only complete the "2 Semester" option if they start their studies in a Fall semester. Domestic applicants may also select the "Part Time" specialty.

MSSCM Funded Financial Assistance

The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MSSCM) program at the University of Kentucky is committed to providing opportunities for full-time domestic and international students to pursue their education. To support this goal, we offer a limited number of partial merit-based scholarships and teaching assistant positions for eligible students. Scholarship awards will range from 5% to 15% of tuition, depending on the candidate's qualifications and the availability of funds.

Application Requirements:

  1. Submit a completed admission application to the MSSCM program at https://gradschool.uky.edu/apply.
  2. Select the "2 Semester" or "3 Semester" specialty on your admission form and complete at least nine credit hours per semester while enrolled.
  3. Possess a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0. For international grades, use www.scholaro.com for conversion.
  4. Identify an additional recommender separate from those listed in your admission application.
  5. Write a personal essay explaining your drive to study Supply Chain Management at the University of Kentucky without AI assistance or third-party writing services.
