Daniels places first in 2021 Oswald Research Competition

Sydney Daniels, a neuroscience and economics senior, is one of 18 undergraduate winners of the 57th annual Oswald Research and Creativity Awards, announced by University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research. Daniels earned the First Place prize in the social sciences category with an entry on Rwanda's Coffee Industry: Colonialism and the Impact of Fair Trade Coffee. Entries were judged on originality, clarity of expression, scholarly or artistic contribution, and the validity, scope and depth of the project or investigation. Her award submission is a result of writing the paper as part of her ECO 499 Economics of Africa class, taught by Jenny Minier, professor in the Department of Economics in the Gatton College of Business and Economics.
