Michael Orefice

Managing Director, Fifth Third Bank

Michael Orefice is the National Sales Manager for Currencies and Commodities at Fifth Third Bank. Mike rejoined the bank in July 2017 and is located in Nashville, TN. Prior to his return Michael was with Macquarie Bank in London and Singapore from 2010 to 2017 where he was the Head of European Foreign Exchange & Interest Rate Sales, and Head of Fixed Income Sales for Asia respectively.

Michael started his career at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, OH in June of 1988 after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from the University of Kentucky. Michael spent six months in the associate training program before joining the Foreign Exchange Trading & Sales Desk. In 1992, Mike left Fifth Third and joined Bank of America until 2003.  At Bank of America Mike spent time in Dallas, Chicago, London, Singapore and Hong Kong developing client relationships across the globe. While in Asia and Europe Michael was responsible for developing and leading Corporate and Institutional FX Sales teams. During this time Mike studied and received an MBA from The University of Phoenix in 2006.

Mike met his wife Shirley in Honk Kong in 1999 and they have been married since 2003. Mike with his wife Shirley, children Maximus (16), Jake (15) and Mia (14) having been living in Brentwood, TN since returning from the UK in 2017. Mike and the entire Orefice family are avid Kentucky Wildcats fans, active in their community through Achilles International, Inner City Rugby of Nashville and coaches Mike Coaches Middle and High School Rugby where his teams are the current Tennessee State Champions.
