Meet Betany Crutchfield!

Hailing from Wilmington, Ohio, Betany has made a remarkable impact as an academic advisor in Gatton for the past 5 years. Before joining UK, she was an academic advisor at Western Kentucky University, where she also pursued her Master's Degree in School Counseling. During her time at WKU, Betany had the opportunity to work with both K-12 students and college students, and while she appreciated aspects of both, she found her true passion in working with college students. This realization led her to transition into higher education academic advising, where she can support and guide students through their college journeys.

As an academic advisor, Betany sees herself as a "school counselor" for college students, forming personal connections with them, celebrating their successes, and supporting them through challenges. Her dedication to her students shines through in the way she invests in their growth and development.

Betany's favorite part of working in Gatton is her fantastic team of co-workers! She is surrounded by a group of highly skilled individuals who excel at their jobs and provide unwavering support to one another.

Here's a fun fact about Betany: She enjoys archery and even owns a recurve bow that she uses for target shooting. Although she has been away from it for a few years, she is eager to find time to get back out to the range and rekindle her passion for archery.
