Graham Office of Career Management Launches Virtual Career Center Website

Well before unprecedented challenges rewrote the trajectory of the Spring 2020 semester, the Graham Office of Career Management had already begun investing in a comprehensive virtual career center to support Gatton students – and its launch couldn’t come at a more critical time!
Graham’s new online presence, designed in collaboration with uConnect, is much more than a website; it’s a career center platform that optimizes connections with students –anytime, anywhere.  This ‘one-stop-shop’ hub combines in-house materials (downloadable Graham guides, videos, blogs) and online-tools (Handshake, BuzzFile, Vault) into one, fully integrated space.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this to our students, employers, and the Gatton community,” says Josh Taylor, Assistant Director for the Graham Office of Career Management.  “We began laying plans for this initiative a year ago, but now more than ever we’re seeing how critical it is to be able to fully meet students wherever they are.  This platform, just like our campus office, is a space for students to learn who they are, plan where they’ll go, and get where they’re going. That’s the core of our mission.”
An exciting feature of Graham’s new virtual home allows visitors to explore dynamic student outcomes data. These insights provide vital transparency and allow prospective and current students to see and become inspired by the career pathways previous Gatton grads have taken.
When Graham’s doors reopen in the fall, the new site will continue to connect students with the team and its resources.  Graham’s Director, Sarah Madison, explains: “We help students find answers to their career questions – not just what they’ll major in, but what they can do with that major, and how to achieve it – through personalized conversations.  When we meet with students 1:1 and discover their story, we can then craft a tailored action plan and connect them to specific tools and opportunities to help launch their careers.  This new initiative touches at every part of that work.”
