A founding principal of Banyan Investment Group, Mr. Chopra functions as the Chief Investment Officer. Though involved in many aspects of the management and investment company, Andy primarily leads sourcing and dispositions of hotel assets. This includes originations, dispositions, negotiations, capital and deal structuring.

Mr. Chopra graduated from the University of Kentucky then gained corporate expertise in sales and origination at Johnson & Johnson, a Fortune 50 Company. Afterwards, he continued his education even further by receiving an MBA at Oglethorpe University, a Master of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University and a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investment and Asset Management from Cornell University.

As the son of a hotelier, Andy was raised in the hotel industry and brings an intimate knowledge of hotel management and development to Banyan Investment Group. Andy’s professional and academic background developed his keen sense of select service hotel investments and finance; his knowledge of hotel operations further sharpened his underwriting and deal origination expertise. He has also led hotel investment analysis for potential acquisitions and development for co-investments in select service hotels with many institutional capital partners, totaling over $200MM in volume over the last real estate cycle.

Andy is based calls Atlanta, GA home, where is lives with his wife Arinn and young son Virran. In his spare time, Mr. Chopra and his wife are passionate Kentucky Wildcats fans. He and his family are also avid travelers because of the new places, people, and cultures. They hope to eventually visit every country on the planet.
