Behind the Blue: Economic Perspectives With Gatton's Ken Troske

Posted: October 20, 2017

This week’s guest on "Behind the Blue" is Ken Troske. Troske is the associate dean for graduate programs and outreach in the Gatton College of Business and Economics and the Richard W. and Janis H. Furst Endowed Chair of Economics at the University of Kentucky, as well as a research fellow with the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn, Germany.

Troske served as a member of the Congressional Oversight Panel whose task was to assess the existing condition of America’s financial markets and the regulatory system, as well as to closely monitor the actions of the Treasury Department and financial institutions to determine if their actions are in the best interest of the American economy.

Troske joins us this week to discuss current trends in American economics, the impact of government collapses like the ones currently happening in Venezuela and Yemen, how countries fall into and climb out of those types of “death spirals,” and more.
