Labianca Keynotes INSEAD's Network Evolution Conference in Fontainebleau, France

Joe Labianca gave the keynote address at INSEAD's Network Evolution Conference in Fontainebleau, France on Saturday, October 27. He presented a big data, computational social science research project on post-merger integration entitled, "Decomposing the Brokerage Advantage during Organizational Change: The Contrasting Roles of Diverse and Socially Distant Information." The project illustrates how individuals in the acquiring and acquired firm are rewarded differently depending on whether they are creatively recombining diverse information or are acting more as appropriators and disseminators of information from other parts of the organization. This work is being conducted collaboratively with Drs. Jesse Fagan (former Ph.D. candidate, now an asst prof. at the University of Exeter), Andrew Shipilov (INSEAD), and Dan Brass (director, Dept. of Management).
