Gatton faculty present work using IBES data, Audit Analytics, and their work with the SDC database.
You are invited to attend! Lunch will be provided.

Research to be presented by:

Russell Jame. Russell will present work using IBES data. He will briefly describe the dataset (e.g., what is included, key variables that can be constructed, etc.) and then focus on a few different applications using his research. IBES International Inc. created its Academic Research Program over 30 years ago to provide a summary and individual analyst forecasts of company earnings, cash flows, other important financial items, and buy-sell-hold recommendations.

Tyler Kleppe. When most people hear about data from “Audit Analytics,” they assume it is useful only for auditing or accounting researchers. Don’t make that mistake! Audit Analytics offers unique data that can be useful for researchers across many different disciplines. He will explore datasets related to shareholder activism, corporate bankruptcies, cybersecurity, and director/executive turnover.

Leonce Bargeron. Leonce will discuss the SDC database. He will focus on the data available in the database and discuss what types of questions the data can help answer. He will reference one or two of his papers that use the data, with a broad overview of the applications of the dataset. SDC is a collection of financial databases that provides worldwide information on Merger & Acquisition transactions, Repurchase Data.
