He returned to Kentucky to earn his graduate degree from the University of Kentucky's Patterson School of Diplomacy.
From there, he and his wife, Jane, moved to Washington, DC, where he began his fundraising career more than 20 years ago, working in corporate and foundation relations with a small research division of Johns Hopkins. From there he moved back to Nashville and worked at his alma mater, Vanderbilt, in corporate and foundation relations and then major gift development in the Vanderbilt Medical Center. He moved on to Duke University and had stints with the Medical Center and the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.
In 2004, Randy and Jane returned to their old Kentucky home in Lexington where he was recruited to help build a development office for UK's Gatton College of Business and Economics. Most recently, he and Dean David Blackwell have been working on fulfilling the Gatton United Campaign. This $65 million capital campaign currently stands at $63 million and has renovated and expanded the facilities of the Gatton College to better meet the needs of our next generation of business leaders.
