Angela C. Erickson
Assistant Director, John H. Schnatter Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise
Angela C. Erickson serves as the assistant director of the John H. Schnatter Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise located in the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky. She works with institute staff and associated scholars to articulate their work and present rigorous research on free enterprise to the public.
Before joining the Schnatter Institute, Erickson was the senior research analyst at the Institute for Justice, where her work focused primarily on occupational licensing and civil forfeiture including License to Work: A National Study of Burdens from Occupational Licensing and Policing for Profit: The Abuse of Civil Asset Forfeiture (2nd ed.). Her work has been cited by the Obama White House, the U.S. Supreme Court, numerous newspapers including the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal, and by research published in several academic journals.
She also worked as a research assistant at the Cato Institute. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Beloit College.
