Holly Brown Powell, alumna of the University of Kentucky's College of Law and the Gatton College of Business and Economics, has been a successful business attorney at the prestigious Frost Brown Todd LLC for over 12 years in Lexington, Kentucky. Putting both her JD and MBA to work, Holly specializes in mergers and acquisitions, business transactions and corporate law. Holly reflects on the value of getting both a JD plus an MBA and how these two degress have impacted her career as member of the Frost Brown Todd team.

Poets&Quants (P&Q) released their 2019/2020 Top 100 U.S. MBA Programs and the University of Kentucky's One Year MBA jumped 19 spots to #74. In this year's ranking survey, the UK MBA was one of only 12 full-time MBA programs with double-digit increases in their ranks from the previous year and only four other MBA programs experienced a larger increase in their rankings. The tenth annual P&Q rankings list combined the five most influential business school rankings in the world: U.S. News & World Report, Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, the Financial Times, and The Economist.

University of Kentucky MBA alumna at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, Yiting Jian, recently became the Enterprise Sourcing Category Management Analyst for The Kroger Company at their headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kroger is currently the largest supermarket chain by revenue and the second-largest general retailer behind Walmart. Yiting's key responsibilities include designing and leading sourcing events for her category, which is ocean and air. 

UK MBA alum, Angela Coleman, has been helping her clients meet their financial and wealth management goals for over 20 years at Unified Trust Company in Lexington, Kentucky. In her role as a Fiduciary Investment Advisor, Angela is responsible for managing wealth and providing financial advisory services for their Wealth Management division clients. Angela reflects on her decision to get her MBA and providing over 20 years of financial and wealth management services to her clients.

The University of Kentucky MBA program welcomes all students, young professionals and emerging leaders across all academic majors and backgrounds in Kentucky (and beyond) to their One Year MBA Open House event on Thursday, February 6th at 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gatton College of Business and Economics to learn more about the full-time, One Year MBA and applicable dual degree programs. University of Kentucky MBA student at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, Elizabeth "Liz" Bazner, has recently been promoted to the Director of Digital at A&W Restaurants, Inc. with headquarters in Lexington, KY.  In this role, Liz will oversee A&W's national digital media buys and digital strategy while strengthening their email marketing program, local digital strategy and engagement with consumers online for one of America's best-known restaurants.

The Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents named University of Kentucky MBA and Gatton College of Business and Economics alum Dr. David McFaddin the interim president of Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) and will assume his leadership duties January 6th, 2020. Before being named interim president, Dr. McFaddin was the senior vice president for operations and strategic initiatives at EKU.

Kentucky Volleyball middle blocker Leah Meyer was named a 2019 First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American, becoming the second UK player ever to be named a first teamer, joining Morgan Bergren in 2015.

University of Kentucky alum of the One Year MBA program at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, Alex Norton, is now the Talent Supply Chain Engagement Sr. Coordinator at Amazon.
