The University of Kentucky MBA program has announced four new members to their MBA Advisory Council representing Lexmark, UK Healthcare, LBX Company and Big Ass Fans. The UK MBA is privileged to welcome the following new members: Tari Young, Engineering Manager, Software and Firmware Development at Lexmark; J.J. Housley, Assistant Operations Executive at UK HealthCare; Joe O'Nan, Chief Financial Officer at LBX Company and Eric Evans, Chief Financial Officer at Big Ass Fans.

University of Kentucky MBA student, Karla Southworth has been named Project Director for the Electronic Health Record Implementation Project Team at the UK HealthCare. Karla will be responsible for oversight of the project life cycle, day-to-day execution of the EHR Implementation Project, and communication of progress, key issues and risks, as well as other status updates to project governing bodies.

University of Kentucky MBA alum, Thomas Lefler is the Director of Absolute Return for Raytheon, a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, security and civil markets throughout the world. With a history of innovation spanning more than 90 years, Raytheon provides state-of-the-art electronics, mission systems integration and other capabilities in the areas of sensing; effects; and command, control, communications and intelligence systems; as well as a broad range of mission support services.

The University of Kentucky Alumni Association recently announced its 2019-2020 Board of Directors Officers, which included UK MBA alumna Taunya A. Phillips as President. Since its inception more than 125 years ago, the UK Alumni Association is a self-governed, nonprofit membership organization that serves the University of Kentucky and its many alumni, students, parents and friends across the Commonwealth and beyond.

Founded in 2014 and headquarters located in Nashville, TN, they are the first digital brand for straightening a smile and are bringing disruptive change to the invisible aligner market. As a result, they're helping customers avoid office visits and cutting costs and saving money for a much better smile to approximately 600,000 customers worldwide.

University of Kentucky MBA alum and Chief Medical Officer at UK Healthcare, Dr. Phillip Chang recently accepted the Gage Award for Quality on behalf of the approximately 9,000 people of physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals that represent UK Healthcare. America's Essential Hospitals, which represents 300 hospitals committed to caring for the vulnerable and keeping communities healthy, awarded UK HealthCare the 2019 Gage Award for its work on safer opioid use within an academic health system. The Gage Awards, named after association founder Larry Gage, honors successful member hospital programs that improve patient care and meets community needs. 

University of Kentucky MBA alum Thomas McCarthy is now a Customer Operations Manager at Convoy, Inc., a startup trucking company, in Seattle, Washington. Convoy is reinventing the supply chain with technology-backed, full-service trucking; and offering guaranteed capacity and innovative real-time GPS tracking via their connected carrier network. Earlier this year, Convoy was named #11 in the CNBC's Top 50 Disruptor List.

Crisann McCloy, alum of the One Year MBA program at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics, recently received the Young Professional Award from the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), which recognizes the efforts of outstanding young procurement professionals who make great strides and contributions to the education procurement industry.
