The University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics is hosting a Professional MBA Open House event highlighting the Professional MBA program, Executive MBA and the Professional MBA For Leaders in Healthcare track. All working professionals, executives, UK employees and company representatives are invited to attend, network and learn more about the different professional MBA options and programs.

Spotlight Bios

Nick Potocki 
Production Engineering Assistant Manager at Toyota 

Nick is currently an Assistant Manager of Engineering at Toyota North America, with a passion for manufacturing and administrative efficiency improvement and experiences in project leadership, continuous improvement and operational management. As an Assistant Manager, Nick is leading the production preparation of Toyota's newest four cylinder engine project which is an execution of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) strategy. Nick completed is Professional MBA program at the University of Kentucky in 2013, while also working full time as an engineer at Toyota. Nick received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2006 from Michigan State University. 


Justin Williamson 
Vice President of Operations Technology at Alliance Coal, LLC 

Justin Williamson graduated from the UK-UofL Executive MBA in 2015 and is the Vice President of Operations Technology for Alliance Coal and is responsible for all aspects of the IT department which impact the needs of the company’s operations. The inception of the group involved creation of the organization unit, insertion of department into corporate structure and processes, development of departmental policies, creation of budget and transfer/hire of personnel. Prior to that, Justin oversaw the acquisition of Matrix Design Group, where he served as Senior Vice President from 2006-2010. Justin has over 20 years of experience as a network engineer, network administrator, and information technology executive. Justin graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Sociology.


Lorna Patches
Director of the Executive MBA & Executive Education Center at the University of Kentcuky 

Lorna Patches is the Director of the University of Kentucky's joint Executive MBA with the University of Louisville and the Don and Cathy Jacobs Executive Education Center. Lorna has an extensive background in the telecommunications industry with an emphasis on relationship management with Fortune 100 companies in the high tech sector. After beginning her career in coastal California, Lorna relocated to Kentucky where she earned a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky in 2007. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.



Nathalya Zarth
Business Partner Senior Specialist at the University of Kentucky Healthcare 

Nathalya Zarth is currently a Business Partner Senior Specialist in the UK HealthCare Finance department and supports Medical and Psychiatric Specialties and the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center Service Line. For the past four years, Nathalya has served in multiple capacities at the University of Kentucky including supporting the clinical mission of the Markey Cancer Center in the Director’s Office and the research mission working at the Center on Drug and Alcohol Research. Nathalya currently serves as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves, Medical Service Corps as a Health Services Administrative Assistant and travels to Mount Carmel, TN where her unit is located. She earned a B.S. degree in Psychology at Davidson College, Davidson, NC and is currently enrolled in her last semester of the Gatton Professional M.B.A. Program. 


Timothy W. Mullett, MD, FACS
Professor and Thoracic Surgeon for the University of Kentucky, VA Medical Center and U.S. ARMY

Dr. Tim Mullett is currently a Thoracic Surgeon at the University of Kentucky's Markety Cancer Center and currently serves as medical director for both the Markey Cancer Center Affiliate and Research Networks. He has also served as a colonel in the Army Reserves, with deployments in 2004 and 2012. Dr. Mullett has committed his time to lung screening and education by chartering Lung Screening Excellence in Kentucky and serving as co-investigator at Kentucky Lung Education Awareness Detection and Survivorship. As a stage 4 liver cancer survivor, he approaches patient care uniquely in comparison to his colleagues. The American Cancer Society (ACS) recently honored Dr. Mullett with the Lane W. Adams Quality of Life Award, and was one of six recipients chosen for the national honor for his leadership in serving the complex needs of cancer patients and their families. He received his MD from the University of Florida, College of Medicine, Gainesville and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Mullett is currently a student in the Professional MBA For Leaders in Healthcare program.
