The Professional MBA brings together a diverse network of working professionals and executives from various work experiences, companies, and industries such as engineering, law, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, technology, banking/finance, government and military. Many of our candidates interested in this program are seeking to enhance or advance in their current career, switch careers or have entrepreneurship endeavors. Offered in either a two-year or three-year plan of study, our Professional MBA students can bring their daily work responsibilities into the classroom and then immediately apply what they learn in the workplace the following day. This program is also offered in some of the dual degree options for certain candidates. Admissions & Preparatory Courses
Submitted applications are considered on a rolling admissions cycle, so it's strongly recommended to apply early into the program. The Professional MBA offers two class starts each year in August (Fall semester) and January (Spring semester). During the course of the year, MBA students at the University of Kentucky will have the opportunity to earn value-added professional certifications from one of several certifying institutions. The program offers certifications in Project Management, Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and the Global Commerce and Strategy.
Coupled with the Professional MBA, the Gatton College of Business and Economics has partnered with the Colleges of Law and Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky to offer unique dual degree programs which allow graduates to pursue highly specialized, multifaceted employment opportunities.

Designed around the busy schedule of the working professional, the part-time Professional MBA curriculum is offered in two different tracks: a two-year plan of study or a three-year plan of study with all classes meeting just once a week in the evenings from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. The Professional MBA is 36 credits, which consists of 9 core business classes (27 credits) and three electives (9 credits). - August 22 – August 29: 80% refund
- August 30 – September 20: 50% refund
- After September 20: No refund
Spring 2019 Start Date: January 10
- January 10: 100% refund
- January 11 – January 17: 80% refund
- January 18 – February 7: 50% refund
- After February 7: No refund

During 2017-2018, the UK Alumni Association and Alumni Clubs provided over 150 students with scholarships, ranging from $500 - $2,500.
