The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently inducted UK MBA alum, William W. “Bill” Thomason Jr., who currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Keeneland, into the Gatton College Alumni Hall of Fame.

The University of Kentucky’s International Center recently hosted a Global Health Case Competition as part of their Global Health Initiatives at the Gatton College of Business and Economics. The winning interdisciplinary team presentation was titled "Palliative Care for Today, Preventative Care for Tomorrow: Papua New Guinea”, which included UK MBA student, Michael Sackett.

University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently presented the fourth annual Commonwealth Supply Chain Innovation Award, sponsored by SAS, to John Lindsey, supply chain manager for R.J. Corman Material Sales in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The presentation ceremony was held during Thursday’s eighth annual Supply Chain Forum, held in the Woodford Reserve Club at Kroger Field.

The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics will host a One Year MBA Open House event on Thursday, February 1st at 5:30 PM, which will introduce the full-time, accelerated One Year MBA program. All current undergraduate students, academic majors and young professionals are welcome to attend. The UK MBA program has officially announced a brand new STEM/MBA dual degree program between the University of Kentucky's College of Arts & Sciences and the Gatton College of Business and Economics, which will award a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees in just five years.The University of Kentucky's STEM/MBA dual degree is a unique program that intersects science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with a versatile business knowledge of an MBA. 

The University of Kentucy's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently hosted a Professional MBA Open House event, which was open to all working professionals in Central Kentucky who were exploring a professional MBA program and seeking additional leadership or advancement opportunities in their careers. The UK MBA programs that were introduced to the audience included the Professional MBA, Professional MBA (For Leaders in Healthcare) and the Executive MBA. 

Dr. Frank Scott has been teaching for more than 30 years at the University of Kentucky with the majority of that time at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, along with the MBA program. Each year, Dr. Scott is arguably one of the most popular instructors with the MBA students because of his interactiveness, knowledge of the material and his ability to present scenarios that challenge the students to think strategically and become creative problem-solvers. 

The University of Kentucky's MBA Student Association (MBASA) is a group of current UK MBA student leaders and ambassadors with the mission of enriching the quality of student life through professional development, social events, community service and student engagement. To date, the MBASA has raised approximately $1,500 with a goal of $7,500 by February of 2018.

The University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics hosted James E. "Ted" Bassett III, one of Kentucky's most respected and valued citizens. Mr. Bassett was a decorated Marine veteran who served in the Pacific during World War II, former head of the Kentucky State Police and also lead the Keeneland Association to become the world’s largest Thoroughbred auction sales company and one of the premier racetracks in North America. During his talk, Mr. Bassett chronicled definitive periods in his life for the audience and his theme was centered on how to become an effective servant leader and inspiring a team through effort, respect, humility and sacrifice.

Current students and staff of the MBA program at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently attended the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) Annual Conference in Chicago, IL. NAWMBA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing women into leadership by partnering with universities and corporations which elevate women in business, providing professional and leadership development opportunities along with offering a strong national network for their members.
