Course Description:
This class will prepare students to make complex corporate finance and investment decisions. Students will further develop their skills in capital budgeting and valuation and explore new areas of finance, including: financial instruments, capital markets, M&A, structured finance and financial technology. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Make sound decisions related to capital budgeting, capital structure, dividend policy and risk management.
  • Value fixed income and equity securities using income and market-based approaches
  • Conduct basic M&A modeling, including valuation and structuring
  • Explain the process of risk distribution and the roles and characteristics of the various players in the market
  • Understand new developments in financial technology and opportunities for financial innovation
