Seale Views Gatton Building Progress

Renowned economist and philanthropist Dr. Bill Seale visited the Gatton College of Business and Economics for a tour of the new building site on Thursday, June 4. Dr. Seale and his wife, Marguerite Pelissier, was joined by Gatton College Dean David W. Blackwell, Senior Associate Dean Ken Troske, and Finance Senior Lecturer Wendy Liu.

"It was a pleasure to be able to show Dr. Seale the changes that have been made on the building, and to get his reaction on the future Seale Finance Learning Center,” said Blackwell. “Dr. Seale has been a proud supporter of the University of Kentucky, and particularly the Gatton United project since day one. We are extremely fortunate to have such wonderful representatives of the university like Dr. Seale who care so deeply for the future and vision of Gatton College."

The Seale Finance Learning Center will be a state-of-the art classroom that simulates a real, fast-paced trading environment. Surrounded by advanced technology, students will be able to take advantage of digital displays showing real-time ticker tape scrolls, financial news broadcasts, and industry-standard databases. The facility will simulate the feeling of working at an investment bank.

“We really are getting the works! It’s remarkable,” said Dr. Seale. “I’m so impressed with the building – this is really exciting.”
