The University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics is hosting a Professional MBA Open House event highlighting the Professional MBA, Professional MBA For Leaders in Healthcare and Executive MBA programs. All working professionals, executives, UK employees and company representatives are invited to attend and learn more about the University of Kentucky's professional MBA options. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to meet current MBA students, faculty, staff and alumni of the program.

Mary WeldonMary Weldon
Vice President, Commercial Banking at Fifth Third Bank

Mary Weldon is currently the Vice President, Commercial Banking at Fifth Third Bank. In her 22 years at Fifth Third Bank, Mary's role has expanded to include consulting with companies in the distribution, manufacturing, service, energy and construction industries (companies generating annual revenues in excess of $20 million). In addition to other financial services, Mary is tasked with developing appropriate capital structures, performing working capital analysis in addition to delivering a team approach which encompasses specialty partners who deliver treasury management solutions, capital market strategies along with institutional and global business solutions. Mary Weldon attended the University of Kentucky for both her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance and Master of Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Banking & Real Estate degrees.

John BrownJohn Brown
COO at Delta Natural Gas Co., Inc.

John Brown was named President, Treasurer and Secretary of Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. in Winchester, Kentucky upon the closing of Delta’s acquisition by Peoples Natural Gas in September, 2017. John also serves as a Vice President of Peoples, headquartered in Pittsburgh. John joined Delta in 1995 as Manager - Accounting & Information Technology and became a Corporate Officer in 1999. Prior to being an employee of Delta, John was a public accountant for Arthur Andersen. John holds a MBA from the University of Kentucky, a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management from Asbury College and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Tari YoungLatarika (Tari) Young
Engineering Manager at Lexmark International, Inc.

Latarika (Tari) is an Engineering Manager for Software Applications and Solutions at Lexmark International in Lexington, KY. She joined the company as a Firmware Engineer upon graduating with a Computer Science degree from Transylvania University in 2003 and also played college basketball. While working, Latarika received her MBA from the University of Kentucky in 2007. Latarika’s 14-year career has included various technical projects, which included an assignment in the Philippines. After eight and a half years as a firmware developer, she transitioned into firmware management to lead the Solutions Frameworks group in 2012. She was the manager of this group for four years, and just recently transitioned to her current role in 2017. A Lexington, KY native and 1999 Bryan Station High School graduate, Latarika currently serves as the Academy Advisory Committee Chair for the Academies of Bryan Station High School. She also serves on the Bryan Station High School Alumni Association Board, as well as the North Lexington Family YMCA Board of Managers.

Rahul KaranthRahul Karanth
Global Business Development Manager at AVENTICS

Originally from Manassas, VA, Rahul has lived in Lexington, KY since Fall 2011 working for AVENTICS Corporation (formerly Bosch Rexroth Pneumatics). Here, he has had the experience to work as a Manufacturing Engineer with facility layouts and lean line design, and has since bridged over to the world of Project Management working for the company's PMO as a Global Business Development Manager. In this current role, he enjoys working with a diverse global business community and sharing best practices throughout this multi-national company. This was made possible in part by participating in the Gatton School Project Management Certification course. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, participating in music ministry at the UK Newman Center, advocating for social justice issues in Lexington with BUILD, and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

Sara HodgsonSara Hodgson
Finance and Administration Manager at Valvoline, Inc.

Sara Hodgson is currently the IT Financial & Administrative Manager at Valvoline Inc. She is originally from Mount Sterling, KY and pursued her undergraduate degree at Georgetown College. Prior to Valvoline, she has worked in accounting and finance with Thomas & King, Inc and The Walker Company of Kentucky. She completed the two-year Professional MBA program at the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics in 2016. Sara currently resides in Lexington, KY and is a board member of the Big Brother Big Sisters of the Bluegrass and financial advisor for Sigma Kappa at Georgetown College.
