UK MBA students and staff attend NAWMBA's Annual Conference

MBA current students and staff at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics recently attended the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) Annual Conference in Chicago, IL. NAWMBA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing women into leadership by partnering with universities and corporations which elevate women in business, providing professional and leadership development opportunities along with offering a strong national network for their members.

"Attending NAWMBA was an amazing experience that my classmates and I were able to do thanks to Gatton College and the MBA staff", said Tiffany Molina, current One Year MBA student at Gatton. "We were able to make connections with other women that are in the process of attaining their MBA or already have one. Furthermore, it was great to meet new companies and learn more about different hiring opportunities. I would highly recommended this event for other MBA women in the future."

Another current One Year MBA student, Hannah Botts, added "I really enjoyed the opportunity to network and attend sessions held by distinguished women in the business community. I walked away with insights on how to identify and leverage my strengths as a female in a male-dominated profession. I am grateful that I got the opportunity to attend a career fair specifically tailored to recruiting women with MBA degrees. As a result, this gave me exposure to companies I wouldn't have been able to interface with otherwise."

Candace Bramley-Hardesty, President of the new NAWMBA academic chapter at the University of Kentucky and current MBA student in the Professional MBA program at Gatton, said that she looks forward to providing additional professional development and networking opportunities for women in the UK NAWMBA Chapter as well as engaging with NAWMBA's large network.
