Darby Brown was announced as the new President of the MBA Student Association (MBASA) for the 2017-2018 MBA class at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics.

Darby is a part of the Engineering/MBA Dual Degree program and will be graduating with her B.S. in Chemical Engineering and her MBA in August of 2018. Along with being the current MBA Student Association President, Darby is also the Vice President of the U.K. chapter of the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA). Darby has worked as an intern at Rockmill Brewery in Columbus, Ohio where she gained valuable experience with pressure driven systems, safety and sanitation protocol, as well marketing experience. She was also a public speaking instructor and Activities Director at Culver Academy in Culver, Indiana. While earning her undergraduate degree, she was co-chair of the “Chemical Engineering Car” team and a leader of the American Institute for Chemical Engineers student chapter. She also served as sisterhood chair of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

Darby hopes to combine her background in chemical engineering with her business education in her next position. Her goal is to push the boundaries of what society can do through observing her world and bettering it through science. Darby’s long term goal is to become an entrepreneur. When speaking about entrepreneurship she said, “Through watching mentors in my life, I have come to see that entrepreneurship can be one of the most rewarding yet challenging careers because it gives you the power to implement real change. I admire those companies who maintain a strong moral compass and I hope to operate in a similar fashion someday.”
