I went there in between two major snow storm. I took a half day off to see Notre Dame and St Joseph Church (in fact the Notre Dame church was closed for concert). I met many old friends there and some new. Despite the cold, it turned out be one of the relaxed and enjoyable conference. A notable incident was that andy lent his badge to me so that i can enjoy a conference lunch under his name. My two academic brothers/sisters were kind enough to acompany me to tour the above places. Montreal gets style. the picture below is St. Joseph church at twilight.
