To me, it is recreational trip and business trip (to BU) combined. We had a lot of fun at Olivia and Haibo's party. Exotic drinks manufactured by olivia, vocal performances by various stars and suns, and the most hilarious game brought by Lihui that got us into 3:00am.
the second day we toured the harvard yard, ate at a so-so thai resturant despite we're having fun with each other, and visited zhang xiaoquan's 27th floor apartment with a million dollar view.
after sending juju off to his flight, we walked through boston commons, and hunted for italian resturants. we end up with a pricy one with diluted catering. Olivia sweared not to come back again. but who knows, in that exact resturant, after a glass of wine, rui offically became my "god-brother" (gan xiong di), olivia and shirley my "god-sisters".
after two nights of difficult sleep (I don't know why, too hot?), i got up early with lihui to BU to give a talk in the afternoon. the stay was surprisingly satisfactory, with great help from lihui. I got to see a good number of faculty there, had a great lunch (good italian food), and, despite many questions from hard-to-satisfy audience, got useful comments for BU.
