Giuseppe (Joe) Labianca, Gatton Chaired Professor of Management, gave an invited presentation at the 2020 NetSciX conference at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan on January 20 entitled, "Recognizing the Positive and Negative Ties in a Network." The presentation covered joint research conducted with former UK Ph.D. students, Josh Marineau (Assoc. Professor, North Dakota State University) and Jesse Fagan (Lecturer, University of Exeter) on how accurate employees are in seeing who likes and dislikes each other in their workplace, as well as understanding how social networks affect employees' career outcomes in a post-merger integration period.
