Professional MBA Student Spotlight: Dr. Arundathi Reddy

Dr. Arundathi Reddy is currently a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at University of Kentucky Healthcare and is current student in the Professional MBA program at the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics. 

When asked why return to college for an MBA, Dr. Reddy stated, “With today’s ever-evolving healthcare systems, physicians have to be well aware of fiscal and business management at both private and university hospitals. My future goals are to obtain a thorough understanding of the business of healthcare management and use that knowledge to take on more business administrative roles within my practice at the University of Kentucky.”

Dr. Reddy received her medical degree from Bangalore Medical College and then completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2003. She is board certified in Anesthesiology as well as Pediatric Anesthesiology.

Following her training in Pediatric Anesthesiology, she was appointed to the faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology at the UK College of Medicine in 2003 and since then has served as the Director of the College of Medicine Anesthesiology Preceptorship for medical students from 2004 to 2014, Medical Director for Non-Operating Room Anesthesia for UK Healthcare from 2010, and Division Chief Pediatric Anesthesia since 2011.
