KY Institute for Economic Development (KIED)
The Kentucky Institute for Economic Development (KIED) course is sponsored by the University of Kentucky, Gatton College of Business and Economics, Don & Cathy Jacobs Executive Education Center. This course is directed by the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED) and accredited by the International Economic Development Council.
The course location is the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Lexington Green, Lexington, Ky.
The KIED course offers intensive training in basic economic development theory and practice. The objective is to meet the needs of persons working in the development field, both as professionals and active volunteers. It is designed to equip participants with the tools necessary to compete aggressively and successfully for new development in their communities. Particular emphasis is focused on training the staff and volunteers of state, local and regional development organizations.
Topics include: Strategy Development, Community Development, Site Location Process, Business Retention and Expansion Strategies, Finance in Economic Development, Entrepreneurship and Small Business and Workforce Development.
