Dr. Daniel Cohen is professor of accounting at The University of Texas at Dallas. His research focuses on financial reporting and disclosure, discretionary accounting choices, corporate governance, and analyst earnings forecasts. In some current projects, he investigates the determinants and consequences of financial reporting as well as the effects of regulation on corporate governance.
Before joining UTD, Cohen was an assistant professor of accounting at New York University Stern School of Business and a visiting assistant professor of accounting at University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He teaches courses in financial accounting and financial statement analysis. Cohen serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Accounting and Economics. He earned his B.A. in economics and statistics as well as his M.B.A. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and his Ph.D. in accounting from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
