Making up the core of nearly 10 degree programs, the School of Management is the largest of the three academic units of the Gatton College of Business and Economics. The heart of the School's missions is to educate individuals who will not only become world-ready, but become leaders of private and public organizations.

The School of Management houses four areas of study: Decision Science and Information Systems, Finance, Management and Marketing.

The Decision Science and Information Systems (DSIS) area focuses on instruction that supports knowledge workers. Knowledge work aims to increase the productivity of individuals, groups, and organizations, and to facilitate efficient and effective decision making. The DSIS Area develops students' abilities to use quantitative methods and computer-based techniques to support decision making.

The Finance area provides students with knowledge of the basic principles of accounting, economics, and quantitative methods and gives a foundation in corporate finance and investments. The rest of the program is tailored to students'; individual needs.

The Management area provides students with knowledge and skills in areas such as organizational behavior, human resource management, strategic and global business management, entrepreneurship, and small business management.

The Marketing area provides instruction focused on inter-company customer relationships and the promotion of products and services as components of an organization's business strategy.

Within each of these areas, students can pursue bachelor's, master's (including the MBA degree) or doctoral degrees.
