The Department of Economics hosts a regional economics teaching workshop each spring. Workshop presenters have included leading national experts in specific pedagogical techniques and nationally renowned economists who have made significant contributions to the advancement of economic education. The Spring 2002 workshop was the eighth consecutive annual workshop with 65 teaching economists from Kentucky and surrounding states in attendance.
The workshop has enjoyed the financial support of the American Economic Association's Committee on Economic Education, the National Council on Economic Education, the Kentucky Council on Economic Education, the Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation, Inc., the Kentucky Economic Association and various publishing companies including Addison-Wesley, Irwin-McGraw Hill, Prentice Hall, and Southwest-Harcourt Brace.
