International Business Minor

The world is becoming smaller with much of business conducted across borders. Be prepared. Become World Ready with the Gatton minor in International Business. The first step is to take the premajor courses and earn the GPA that will make you eligible for admission into the upper division of the Gatton College of Business and Economics. Then complete the following:

PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS:

FIN 300 Corporation Finance
MKT 300 Marketing Management

MINOR REQUIREMENTS:

MGT 309 Intro to International Business
ACE/ECO 471* International Trade
FIN 423 International Finance
MKT 435 International Marketing

PLUS one of the following: a USP cross cultural course at the 200 level and above that is not used to satisfy University Studies Program requirements, or (Fall 2011 forward) a UK Core Global Dynamics course at the 200 level and above that is not used to satisfy UK Core requirements, at least three credit hours earned through an education abroad experience, or 6 hours of college level foreign language.

Students must take at least nine hours of upper-division classes from the Gatton College (50 percent of the upper division requirement for a minor).

*Note: ECO 401 is a prerequisite for ECO 471 at UK.
